About the Opportunity
Johnston Builders Ltd is looking for a full-time IT Systems & Software Implementation Consultant based in St. Albert, AB, or Whitehorse, YT on a one year contract basis with the potential of extension. A hybrid arrangement of on-site and remote may be considered for the right candidate.
Reporting to the leadership team, this role will lead the evaluation, optimization, and integration of the company’s key software platforms, providing expert guidance to ensure the organization maximizes its technology investments and successfully implements system improvements across the business.
Some of your key responsibilities within this role will include:
- Evaluating the effectiveness, performance, and ROI of the organization’s current software platforms and digital systems
- Assessing existing implementations of Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Build, Autodesk Cost, and Sage accounting systems
- Identifying inefficiencies, integration gaps, and system limitations affecting operational workflows
- Recommending improvements, system configurations, or alternative solutions to optimize software usage and performance
- Developing strategies to improve integration and data flow between platforms and supporting technologies
- Providing objective recommendations to leadership on the most effective technology direction for the organization
- Supporting the development of standardized workflows and SOPs aligned with system capabilities
- Collaborating with project teams, office staff, and field personnel to understand user needs and operational challenges
- Delivering coaching, training, and guidance to employees to improve software adoption and usage
- Visiting offices and project sites to support implementation, troubleshoot issues, and provide hands-on training
- Supporting change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes
- Providing ongoing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency through technology improvements
More About You
To qualify, you will need demonstrated expertise in evaluating and implementing enterprise software platforms and strong knowledge of system integrations within business or construction technology environments. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT systems implementation, software consulting, or digital transformation roles will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Experience working with or implementing Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Build, Autodesk Cost, or similar construction management platforms
- Familiarity with Sage or comparable accounting systems and financial software integrations
- Experience improving data flow and integrations between multiple business systems and platforms
- Background supporting technology transformation initiatives within construction, engineering, or project-based industries
- Experience developing or optimizing SOPs, workflows, or digital processes tied to operational software systems
